Desmond & Dempsey are one of those rare brands that do exactly one thing — and do it beautifully. Founded in Brixton by Joel and Molly (Desmond and Dempsey were their grandfathers), the brand was built around a simple idea: that downtime deserves dressing for. Their pyjamas and nightwear are made in organic cotton, designed with bold, original prints, and cut to feel genuinely good to wear rather than merely presentable.

We bring Desmond & Dempsey into our nightwear collection for the summer months, and the reason is specific: there aren't many brands that do a really beautiful printed cotton nightdress. There are plenty of pyjama options out there, but a proper slip or nightie in a lightweight organic cotton with a print this considered? That's much harder to find. Our clients tell us they've been looking for exactly this kind of piece for a long time — and once they find it, they tend to come back for it season after season.

The cotton is superbly light, which makes these nightdresses ideal for warmer weather — they breathe well, wash beautifully, and soften with every wear. We currently stock two silhouettes: the slip nightie, with a simple, elegant cut that works as well as a summer dress as it does for sleeping, and the square neck nightie, which has a slightly more structured neckline and sits a little longer. Both come in Desmond & Dempsey's signature prints — the Loxodonta (a sweeping elephant motif in blue) and the Jag (a cream-ground jaguar print that manages to feel both playful and refined).
