My journey into lingerie started long before the boutique. I grew up working weekends in my mother's boutique in Warwickshire from the age of sixteen, and that early experience gave me something that can't really be taught — an instinctive understanding of how women relate to the lingerie they wear, and what a difference the right piece makes. After university, I spent a year at Rigby & Peller's Knightsbridge boutique as a fitting consultant and swimwear specialist, where I learned an enormous amount about the London client, about fitting, and about the brands that were worth knowing. It was there I saw most clearly what was missing in the broader market: women who had spent years in ill-fitting, uninspiring bras from high street department stores, and who had no idea how different things could be. That is still the conversation I have every week, and it never loses its satisfaction.

Curation is something I take seriously. I travel to Paris several times a year for the trade fairs, where brands come from across the world and where it's possible to discover houses that aren't yet well known in the UK. I also attend shows in London and visit brand showrooms throughout the year — always looking for what's new, what's exceptional, and what genuinely belongs in our edit. Every brand we stock has been chosen because we believe in it: the fabric, the construction, the fit, the longevity. We test everything against a high standard before it makes it to the boutique floor. That process never gets routine, and it's one of my favourite parts of running this business.
