Frequently Asked Questions About Soak Wash
How do you use Soak Wash?
It couldn't be simpler. Add one teaspoon of Soak to a basin of cool water, submerge your item, and leave it to soak for around fifteen minutes. Gently squeeze out the water — no wringing — and that's it. No rinsing required, though we recommend a quick rinse for lingerie worn directly against the skin. You can also use Soak in the washing machine on a delicate cycle, or use it to spot clean stains on clothing and fabric. We've even used it successfully on carpet.
Is Soak Wash really no-rinse?
Yes — and it genuinely works. Because Soak is a low-suds liquid, the dirt and oils are trapped in the water and pulled away from the fabric as it soaks. When you squeeze out the water, there's no residue left in the fabric — just clean fibres and a light hint of fragrance that dissipates naturally over time. The no-rinse process means less agitation, less water, and less wear on your fabrics, which is exactly what delicate lingerie needs.
What scents does Soak Wash come in?
We stock Soak Wash in seven scents: Celebration (sweet and delicate, inspired by red tea), Fig (fresh fig and lychee with dandelion), Lacey (spring blossoms with bergamot), Yuzu (tart citrus and eucalyptus), Wild Mint, Pineapple Grove, and Scentless for those who prefer no fragrance at all. All scents are light and modern — they leave just a hint of freshness on the fabric rather than a heavy perfume. Many of our customers buy two or three scents to use depending on their mood.
Is Soak Wash good for washing bras?
It's our top recommendation for washing bras and lingerie. Machine washing bras — even on a delicate cycle — causes wear to the underwires, lace, and elastic that shortens their life significantly. Soak allows you to hand-wash quickly and easily without any of that damage. A beautiful bra from Empreinte, Aubade or Prima Donna can last for years with proper care — and Soak is the easiest way to provide it. We recommend it to almost every customer who buys lingerie from us.
Can you use Soak Wash on swimwear?
Yes — and it's excellent for swimwear. Chlorine, salt water, and sunscreen all degrade swimwear fabrics over time, and rinsing alone isn't enough to remove them fully. A quick Soak after swimming removes residues gently and keeps the lycra and fabric in much better condition for longer. The travel-size bottle is particularly handy for holidays.
Is Soak Wash eco-friendly?
Very much so. Soak is biodegradable, phosphate-free, dye-free, and made with plant-derived and renewable ingredients. The bottles are made from 100% post-consumer resin and printed with water-based inks. The no-rinse formula also uses significantly less water than conventional washing, which reduces its environmental impact further. It's a product that's genuinely good for your fabrics and for the planet.
Do you stock Soak Wash in travel size?
Yes — we stock both full-size and travel-size Soak Wash bottles. The travel size is brilliant for holidays, allowing you to wash swimwear, lingerie, and delicates in your hotel room without needing to find a laundry. It's one of our most popular purchases alongside swimwear, particularly in the summer months.
